I wish to build an audio receiver in order to hear through headphones the pulse in buried wire made by an Invisible Fence transmitter. Is there a circuit which I can use? I am told that Invisible Fence uses 7.5 or 10.8 KHz with a modulation of 30 Hz. Thanks, Guyrepair

I have an underground wire used for our dog collars. When the buried loop was broken, I used the troubleshooting tips on this web site to find the break.

A battery powered AM radio tuned just below 600 KHz will receive the signal. However you will need to make and attach a diy choke at the transmitter first.

The instructions are a little further down the page.

A germanium diode and a high impedance earphone might pick it up. Add a tuned circuit and it should for sure.
