    Hello everyone.
When an element has inductive behavior ( current laggs voltage) it consumes reactive power. But how a generator with inductive power factor can produce reactive power. I 've read that induction generators are reactive power sources.
    Thanks for any help!

I was told by someone here, that synchronuous motors are used at hydro stations to correct the power factor of the output by over excitation. Remember that inductive reactance is corrected by capacative reactance.
