I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am working on a project that will allow a lightbulb to dim with increased ambient light, and brighten with increased ambient light. Also, I would like it to be able to withstand 120v AC. I am totally new at electronics and understand virtually nothing. Anyone with any information can email me at <snip>

Much much thanks to anyone who can help!

If you increase ambient light, the lightbulb will dim and brighten? If that's the case you could just keep your brightness level fixed with a single resistor and source.
