    Has anyone every seen a sample C++ (Microchip) program that would read a pdf file into a program and then write the pdf out to a LCD screen?

    A C++ microchip program? Hmmm.

    First start by understanding the file format of PDF.
    Write you own code on a PC that will decode the file...
    And output in the same format to an LCD simulators.
    Transfer it to the embedded platform and optimise....

    Don't know if this helps you, but this is a java based program to read and write pdf's among other things: http://www.lowagie.com/iText/

    Perhaps there's a set of C++ library already written for such a thing.

    Good luck
