Radial Leaded Varistors(MOVs)

    Hi all,
    As on above title, I have a qns on radial leaded varistors which is also known as MOV.

    In all MOV datasheets, there is this specification of Vdc and Maximum clamming voltage,
    Vdc= Vm(dc)
    Is this the maximum voltage the MOV can take in?
    &
    As for Maximum clamming voltage meaning, i have read in other websites however i m still not very sure about the meaning.
    Can someone explain the meaning of it in a simpler term?

    You could check a diagram over the voltage/current function. The marking of a MOV is max normal voltage with no current through the device. I can help you pick the right one if you tell me where you are going to use it.
