I accidentally plugged my Air Conditioner into a 230 Volt outlet. it worked for a minute, then just turned off completely and will not turn back on?

What did i break in it? what needs to be fixed?

Also, I have a battery powered drill that used 12v. I hooked by Variable DC power supply up to it using 12 volts but it would not power it? it works using its battery, but not dc power supply?

what am i not understanding here?

So how do you confuse a 240 volt outlet and a 120 volt cord end? By design they don't match to begin with.

As for the power supply you probably broke that as well being a typical cordless drill can pull a lot of amps.

I would first off caution you about working with 120VAC or 220VAC. Your knowledge and history is painting a dark picture.
