I can't get WinAVR (AVR-GCC) to show up in my plug in manager window. It just shows "STK500".
Note that i installed AVRSTudio after I installed WinAVR if that matters.
How do I get this to work?

Greeting zdaddy,

I have moved your post to its own thread so that will receive the attention specific to your question. Initiating your own threads even if your question is on the same topic as an active or dormant thread is the preferred approach here at All About Circuits.

From your question, you appear to be encountering some difficulty getting your computer set up to develop code in C on your STK500 development board.

You indicated that you had installed WINAVR prior to installing AVRSTUDIO4. I think this may be the root cause of your problem.

I would recommend you go through the proper method of removing programs from your Windows by using the REMOVE PROGRAMS utility available from Windows.

Then you should install and verify the AVRSTUDIO4 application. Once you have confirmed that AVRSTUDIO4 is up and running properly then you can proceed to install WINAVR.

If you still are having trouble after that then return and let us know.
