My cable provider recently upgraded, so now most channels instead of being channel 4 are channel 4_1.
After re-scanning I get them all, but it is a pain to have to enter 53_1 in the dark. Is there any way to get around the 2 extra entries?

So they eliminated the old analog channel.

They are most likely using 256 QAM and multiple digital programs can now go onto the QAM and the digital program number is why you see the XX.n

With 256 QAM, you have 38.8Mbps to stuff content in. Typically about 12 SD channels or 2 to 3 HD channels. You can most likely tell you TV or STB to not show channels.
