    hey hey

I am looking for a chip that can generate a 50kHz PWM signal with adjustable duty cycle, any of you have experience with devices like these?

    Thanks

The lowly 555 time can do that, check the datasheet. There are dedicated chips. Look up motor control or power supply control on ti.com.

Check the list at the bottom of this article (assuming you need motor control)...

you can try SG3524, stable PWM with few components needed. and used commercially ,

I too like the SG3525. Its like the 555 and lm339 type PWM circuit in one chip.

A lot of people try using just a 555 for PWM, but if you need a specific frequency of PWM the 555 is problematic. As the duty cycle is adjusted the frequency is also changed.

In the case of 555 timer, pulse width information will not linear to modulating voltage. It will be exponential. I don't know about other ICs. :)
