hi, i have to make a circuit which can detect the difference between two different pulse. 1 is lagging 90 degrees behind the other but they are of the same frequency and voltage. Any ideas would be very helpful as im stuck lol.

 

Why do you want to detect which one occurs first?
What is the application?

 

its for a motor direction sort of indicator. but the only bits i can play around with are the contacts 0v and two 24v ac signals when one is laging behind the other in one direction and then 90 degrees in front the other direction. so i need some sort of pulse detction circuit.

 

See if this application note helps you out. The technique uses a d-type latch to produce a signal that is high when the motor is turning in one direction and low when turning in the other direction.
