Hi,
I am currently trying to develop a 2 stage Marx circuit generator . I am thinking to make a triggering circuit to trigger the spark gaps using a 555 timer and a MOSFET. I am new in this. Kindly help.

Thank you Dodgydave.. I would like to know if i can use the timer circuit in between the spark gaps. so that the gaps remains on for 1.2us and then short it thereby charging the capacitors in series.

 

If you use a second monostable to set the pulse length, it will lengthen/shorten pulse width. Resend the link back to me, or re-post it.
