Can I use the Atmega8L DIP28 package IC instead of the TQFP?

I realize that the only pin that is different on this circuit is (ADC6) that is connected to PB0(ICP) for the fan supply. There is no (ADC6) on the Atmega8L Dip28.

Can I connect PB0(ICP) to another (ADC#) or just use PB0(ICP) alone?

Will the Flash.HEX work the same on the Atmega8L DIP28 package IC?

Does the data sheet have any information? That is usually the best source.

 

In the ATMEGA8L Datasheet it states that theres 6-Channels ADC in the PDIP Package, and 8-Channels in the TQFP Package.

In the TQFP and QFN/MLF package, ADC7..6 serve as analog inputs to the A/D converter. These pins are powered from the analog supply and serve as 10-bit ADC channels.

And even thought I'm using one less ADC channel and Input Capture Port?

And if I don't use (ADC6) + PB0(ICP) should i power the fan straight from the PSU?
