Programmer for ATmega88 microcontroller

Hello, I am a newbie, and have recently bought an 'Evil Genius' project book. Some of the projects use an ATmega88 (28 pin) microcontroller, but I am having trouble finding a reasonably-priced programmer.

I saw a reference saying that the Arduino Uno is suitable (and it's very affordable), so could anyone please confirm this to be the case?

Many thanks

Phil

Thank you for your response, but I don't understand how this helps me.
Unless you are suggesting this site as somewhere I should make my query?

Honestly, if I was a noob, I'd go with the Arduino Uno, myself. In fact, I AM new to microcontrollers, and got one not long ago. There are many, many projects you can do, and interfacing with Processing using the serial port opens a lot of doors, too. I don't know if the '88 is compatible, but there is so much out there it would be worth the $14 U.S.on Ebay to get one. Just my 2 cents!

Thanks for your replies. After more research I discovered the Avrisp Mk II, which seems to be suitable, and has a USB connection. I will probably go for that.
