Ohh, pick me PICK ME !!!!

The photon is massless, hence it travels at c.
...
OK, I'll play. ;)

If it has no mass, it has no matter, hence it is not a particle.

The term "photon" implies a particle, which must be made of something, hence it must have mass.

A photon is thought to have no rest mass, which is no problem for its stature as a particle because it is never at rest. :p

A photon does have momentum and energy - two key ingredients for particles.

But, your point is well-taken. There actually is no experimental proof that a photon has zero rest mass, but it is a key assumption in most accepted physics theory. Experiments keep pushing the upper limit of photon mass down over time. But, the lesson of the neutrino is clear. You can't assume anything.

what If the proton were to travel through a wormhole?
Oh, they wouldn't get through at all. Worms love to eat protons more than I love to eat jelly beans. At best, they will get digested and excreted as a hydrogen atom embedded in a methane molecule. :D
