    Good day,

First, a bit of background. I am a student (first year) in IT (programming) at the Institute of Technology in Dijon, France. I have a class called "Systems" and we are learning a bit of processor architecture and such. I am doing some applications that have been given to us by our professor and there is one question which concerns the role of one of the components that are present on the blueprints of a processor (we are using Proteus 8 Professional). The name of the component is "U3" and you can find the blueprints in the attached file.

I just cannot figure out the role of that component. I would much appreciate if you helped me. Thanks in advance.

I'll give that a read. Notice that there is a bit called "z" that goes out of it. I know what that does, it pretty much forces an address jump when it's value is 1, however I don't understand the rest.
