I just wanted to know the price of a Line output transformer (LOT or LOPT or Flyback transformer) for a 17" monitor..My friend got it for some $22. And he thinks he was ripped off.

You might pay $~30-$50 for a flyback transformer.

The funny part is he inquired at several places (TV repair shops) and they said it the cost for LOT was Rs 250 ($5 to $6). The so the guy who repaired the smasung 17" CRT (monitor) said those are expensive for a monitor than a TV (my friend paid Rs 1000, whch approximates to $22).
