Iam looking on information regarding the type of motor applied in precise linear positioning, could anyone help me out in this respect.

 

The two types of motors commonly used for motion/positioning control are servo and stepper.

A new kind of motor that works extremely well is the linear brushless motor, but they're rather expensive. You do not need to worry about backlash or gearing, which is a major plus.
