Hello,

What are the precautions to be taken while making a battery charger (sealed lead acid)?

thankyou
Normally, sealed lead-acid batteries are charged using a constant voltage. Then, the charging current will be self-regulating. With a constant voltage the battery cannot be overcharged. This voltage is approximately 2.3V per cell. So a 12V battery will need approximately 13.8V. The data sheet for the battery will have more details. This voltage is also temperature dependant. Your charger needs to have over-current limiting in case of a faulty battery or a very discharged one.
