Ditch the 741. They are a great learning tool, but a not so good op amp. Something like a TL071 or TL081 (single op amp), TL072 or TL082 (dual op amp), or TL073 or TL083 (quad op amp) are much better over all in every parameter, noise, frequency response, you name it.

A 741 opamp is 43 years old. If you like lots of hiss and not much output above only 9kHz then use it for a preamp.

The TL074 and TL084 are the quad opamps; there is no TL073 that I know of. The TL083 is a 14-pin package dual opamp with two Vcc+ pins and offset adjust pins.
