I am building a MCU (PIC18F4620) based project, and i am thinking if i should use an internal or external power supply (switching power supply).
I think an external is better for noise considerations, anyway does anybody have views on this topic. Thanks !

 

The only comment I would make is externals keep the heat away from your electronics. Older designs before wall warts this could be a problem. It also allows for smaller boxes overall, but if you have a large jackfield then this isn't as much of an issue.
