power regulator smokin rectifier!

C2 will seriously affect the transient response of the power supply. I have no idea what the value is but it's shown as a polarised cap so I imagine it's in the uF range.

GND will cook the rectifier as this in the UK is only a few volts above Neutral. What you have built is an isolated DC supply with a ground which is dangerous. You have connected an AC ground with a DC ground.

Your external DC input isn't isolated with a reverse protection diode either.

A truely bad design. But I won't call you dummy. Just a fire hazard in the making.

"Tone of voice" does not transmit well over the interwebs. Therefor one must be very careful when replying in a playful or facetious manor.

Emoticons or smiley faces go a long way to express good natured kidding.

"Don't do tht dummy !.. :D" read much friendlier with the smiley then without.
