Hi

I have a hp dv4000 with a short circuit in the motherboard.
I had dessoldered the jack ac connector, tryied another ac adaptader and without battery and alaways any ac adapater the led blinks and make a flash noise.

It's possible to fix the motherboard?

Greetings! And welcome to AAC!

I've moved your post into its own thread, where it will draw more responses.

Please refrain from "hijacking" existing threads with tangent or off-topic questions. You can create new threads for new questions using the "New Thread" button on the upper left of the page.

The problem may be associated with the AC adapter jack or possibly a bad capacitor on the motherboard. You can try to carefully examine all the capacitors of damage - changed color, swelling, or open vent on top of the case.

Do you have a meter to check for conduction (low ohms) between the adapter input and motherboard ground?

Why did you 'desolder the jack' ?

What other ac adapter and how did you connect it?

What led blinks?

Where does the sound come from?
