    A coil with a impedance of 116 ohms and a power factor of .22 and a 50 microfarad capacitor are connected in series to a 120 Volt 60Hz supply. What is the power factor of this circuit?

    hello can somebody please help me solve this question. How do I do the maths? Thank you in advance for your help.

    The title implies an RLC circuit, but I don't see a resistor mentioned anywhere.

    Did you forget it?

    The resistance is implicit in the stated power factor value for the coil.

    R=Z*pf=116*0.22=25.52Ω
