I have a transformer whose primary is fed with a maximum of 30VAC. Occasionally, this transformer will be switched off so I would like to limit the back EMF into the driving circuit. I have 16VAC TVS diodes leftover from another project (Littelfuse P6KE24CA). Is there a problem placing two of these in series to double the Stand Off voltage resulting in an effective 32VAC TVS diode?

Thanks R!f@@. I breadboard tested two of the bidirectional TVS diodes in series and it works great! Provides twice the Reverse Standoff Voltage (Vr) of a single TVS diode before they avalanche.
