[SIZE=+0]i have uploaded an attachment of a block diagram which i have to explain the input and output relationships between each box and what each box represents, my biggest problem is with block 1, any help woyld be appreciated[/SIZE]

 

below is my block diagram , iam unsure if block 1( starting from left to right) is generating a 40 khz frequency or recieving a frequency? i have to write a report on the input /output relationships of each block and what each block is and its function ,, any help would be appreciated
