well the issue im really having is understanding how they got the total resistance All i can see is that they are in series but obviously they are not so not sure how to go further...

 

Thanks for getting back to me jony but i was able to figure out that from point a to b the resistors are in series but they are in parallel with the resistor between the leads... ok on to # 25... Thanks again!
