I am new to this realm and to programming in general. Does anyone recommend a book on PLC programming? or simply help point me in the right direction. I am unsure on how to get started, but I definitely want to get started. Any details from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

If you can get past the annoying talkover on the webpage when you go to that site

The most obvious example for PLC prgramming and design is Introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers By Gary Dunning. Chapter 3 gives a good introduction to the programming aspects.
