What does the term "pin strapping" mean?

 

Thanks, but what you quoted is not a definition. I did google for it and found similar stuff to what you posted. However, the datasheet linked within that article gave an example of pin strapping, which seems to mean just connecting to nodes in a circuit with a short... as in to jumper to points together.
