Does anyone know where I can find theory based information on photosensitive capacitors ?

    If any exists, try Google.

Weird. It seems that they exploit photosensitive capacitance in image sensors, but it seems to be an isolated semiconductor-based application. May I ask, how did this question come about?

I saw it mentioned with other photo devices. I never heard of that term being used before and could find very little information on it. They might be referring to a Varactor. I’ll continue my research on this subject and let you know what I find. Sorry for the confusion

It's okay, I like learning new things. If someone referred to a varactor as a photosensitive capacitor, they deserve a slap :p

This is about the only reference I found that isn't a patent disclosure - http://astro.rit.edu/research/CID/a_cid_is.htm. As you can see from the article, the photosensitive capacitors make up a Charge Injection Device for imaging, as opposed to the usual CCD. The big difference is that the retained charge may be non-destructively scanned.
