Most people with more than a few posts here (including me) are addicted
It's nice to have another aspect of one's life. I look back across the decades and see that my school mates didn't know my co-workers, didn't know my musician groups, didn't know my neighbors, didn't know my girlfriend, didn't meet my customers, didn't meet my family. Now, all of them don't know my online activities. Is that addicted?

Well, I'd sure have to think of something else to do after my 64 year old body gets tired or sore, but it isn't bed time yet. Most people grow fat in front of the TV. To say it politely, I find most TV to be addressing a much different audience than me.

I have more than a dozen other Forum style websites in my bookmarks. I am still deciding whether to join a few as Number Twelve or some random moniker. To drag a 12,000 post tail behind me or to start anonymous with people that are going to treat me like a noob?

Right now, I think I'll start studying that car I bought. It won't be long until I find out why a red light is blinking at the bottom of the windshield...and how to stop it! That would be much more productive than telling people that more helpers become available during the course of a 24 hour day, then having it deleted like I'm a bad boy.

On a related topic, TheRB left just about a year ago because of the change in AAC site software.
He left a couple of other sites around the same time for different apparent reasons, he seemed to be coming disillusioned for some reason, a little oversensitive possibly?
I think he still has his web site up.
Max.

Oh... I don't know about that... -- Speaking for myself I feel the 'noobs' and newcomers are essential to 'the experience' -- IMO nothing tests and bolsters one's knowledge and comprehension more than offering instruction:):D

Oh, I meant no offense to the newbies. The forum is dedicated to learning, after all. I was referring to the site itself, and the direction the admin decided to take. I can't stand corporations, and that's exactly what AAC feels like now. But I've already ranted about this in several other places, so that's all I'm going to say.

The main reason why I visit this site is its forum... the rest of the areas I seldom consult anyway. And truth being told, the forum still feels pretty much the same to me. It's the people that participate that makes this place what it is, corporate or not.

I agree, I stick to the forums, but it's difficult to get here now without the stupid home page popping up. I've taken to typing in "forum.allaboutcircuits.com" rather than just "allaboutcircuits.com" which helps a bit, but I still keep finding myself back on the home page without trying to get there.

That's really weird, If I type http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com I have no problem at all... perhaps it's your browser? (I'm using Firefox) or maybe your browser is not keeping you logged in after you close it?

That was my initial reaction also -- However Management really are making a genuine effort to involve the membership in the editorial process!!!:):):) --- The way I see it; quality comes at a cost -- I far prefer a bit of 'commercialism' to a 'subscription paradigm' -- for the privacy benefits alone!:)

I think he either went dark. No sign of RomanBlack or RB activity anywhere on the web. Even his own website has not been updated in more than two years now.

I mean sometimes I accidentally hit a button that used to go one place and now it goes to the home page. I never ask to go there, but there are so many links and buttons that take me there anyway. It's total garbage.

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/

I've been using that link forever. I didn't even know there was a new "home page" till it was pointed out in the forums .... well, that and the brief excursion with the terrible colors here ...
Looks familiar....
