What is the correct way to solder peg terminals on vacuumed relays, firsts attempt connection came away!

 

A picture would help. But my guess is, like vacuum tubes, they are meant to have special connectors pushed onto them, not soldered.

As said, show us the data of the relays you are using.
The relays most likely must be used in some kind of socket and can not be soldered.
