Using an electric hoist purchased from Harbor Freight (http://www.harborfreight.com/440-lb-electric-hoist-with-remote-control-60346-9096.html )I want to remove the tethered rocker-switch up/down control and install controls which copy the function of a RF controlled garage door opener, i.e. one button control that sends a signal to the receiver to activate the motor. The motor would, like a garage door's motor, reverse polarity each time it receives the RF signal. I want to set limit switches on the up and down distance the hoist travels.

Why not use one of these? I just installed this winch to motorize my 60ft crank-up radio tower, but I just used the manual rocker switch, so I never used the radio switch I bought with it...

Will the DC remote you link to work with the AC hoist the O/P is using?

Probably not a direct plug in, but everything he needs to control two 12V relays comes with the RF remote.
