We are using 7.4V 1800mA battery, 9 Volt adapter to charge up the battery,but when operating the device from the battery,PCB is getting heated , Can you guide us with best practices for designing a charging circuit.

Please provide Links/suggestions/materials for the same!It would greatly improve performance of our device.....
