Locally here, the scheme is quite simple, thanks God.
After buying this appartment, I used to park for years, around the corner, on the same place on the left side (forbiden in general in the whole city) exactly where the sign authorizing it was planted...coexisting with another sign forbiding any parking, distant maybe some 5 meters away. Pity is that the (analog) picture I took was lost somewhere in my archives.
But, here comes the important part, people parks cars almost everywhere almost always. And not that I am happy or proud of it, let me say...
IMHO, the pictures in the article are of extreme examples. I am familiar with much simpler signage and although I live I a major US metropitan area, must report that I haven't seen any such examples personally. Maybe a "No Parking 7am-9am, 2pm-4pm"!
I just park in my driveway, room for 6 cars. at work, I park about 1/4 mile from the shop, but thats only 100 yards from the gate the rest inside the fence.
