Has anyone noticed the price of 100w leds has come down recently(now $8 on eBay). Time to buy twenty or so, dust off my 100A SSR and make a mega strobe. Normal operating current is 3.5A ; absolute maximum listed as 7A ;but is this absolute max. What about 1ms pulse or less and what sort of light output? ( @ 3.5A we have 9kLm.) ...thanks

I only have one 100 Watt LED, and it is amazing how much price has dropped just since last year.
I experiment mostly in the 3-50 Watt range.

By absolute max they already mean that you should be pulsing it at very low intervals.
Check the datasheet , they should tell you exactly how long you can pulse it at 7A . But usually absolute max is absolute max
