Operating a 12V fan from a USB port

Just curious, I have a Toshiba Satellite L35 S2316 PSL 33U 03U023, that began to overeat, and I suspected the fan to be the problem. I went to their website and found that there was a BIOS upgrade (free download) to fix the problem. I did that, and so far, it's working great....
