Hi. Maybe this is not the right forum but I was hoping for some directions.
I'm looking for an open-frame power regulator which can regulate 0-120V (AC or DC) through a computer (USB, Serial).
I need it to deliver up to 5 amps. Have some of you come across an unit like that?
Optimistic regards

Explain "through a computer (USB,Serial)" more ?
Not sure what you are asking..
Do you just want a 120VAC to 5VDC @5A open frame power supply?

Hi Mcgyvr. Thanks for your reply, and sorry for not being clear.
I want to be able to control the voltage through my pc. So if I want the output to be 50V, I tell the device to putput 50V. Do you see what I mean? Sorry for my bad English.

Hi. Brilliant. Thank you very much. So that's what it's called :)

Regarding open frame. I have space considerations in my lab so I was hoping to fit the device into at 19 inch rack I already have.
I will look through the options and see what I can get.

Again, thank you very much and have a nice day
Best regards

Well there you go.. Many are designed for 19" frames already..

Just a FYI..
"Open frame" in the power supply world would typically get you something like this..
http://www.ledsupply.com/power-supp...24vdc-4.5amp?gclid=COrcj9LBtsoCFVKQHwodzJIKcw
or this

What you want is commonly called "rack mount" not open frame..
