First timer, be easy on me. I just purchased a 1/2 hp, 90vdc, dc motor(permanent magnet) and Polyspede variable speed control for my vintage drill press. I've seem this application and it works great. I have basic electrical skills, home wiring, hooking up a/c motors, i'm not worthy to be on this site, but I hope you guys can help me. I want to incorporate an on/off foot pedal to this set-up. Just a simple foot pedal, nothing fancy. The variable speed controller has an on/off switch. Would it go before the switch, or would I have to eliminate the switch? Any diagrams, ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Scott c

Is a switch connected to com., spd., +5 terminals?
That is the best place for a control switch.
A switch breaking the ac in or A1/A2 connections is also needed for safety.
