Hi, first post, apologies if it is stupid, but I was hoping someone could at least point me in the right direction.

I need a circuit that when energised (with mains voltage) will trigger a relay to supply power to a heating element (approx 1kw). Then I need it to turn off after approximately 30 seconds, wait for 15 seconds and stay continuously on until power is withdrawn.

I don't want to use a microcontroller or an off the shelf time delay pulse relay setup. Was thinking some sort of 555 timer(s) circuit. Suggestions or a pointer in the right direction greatly appreciated.

WOW! It can be done with three 555's an OR gate, a drive transitors and a good relay but do you really want to do it?
