In any event, Edison was, and forever will be, wrong about DC. AC was the only way we could build a grid and transport electrical energy across the USA. Tesla HAD to win that one, just because he WAS right and Edison WAS wrong.
It thought so to, untill I discovered that DC is being transmitted via long lines to feed power to some grids. See this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-voltage_direct_current

I first wondered about some HV transmission lines North of Las Vegas near I-15. What made me wonder was that instead of 3 primary lines like 3 phase, there were two primary lines so I asked a friend that works for a small independant power company that gave me some info.
