Hi there,
I am new to multisim and have only ever done a few circuits.
But today when I went to place down a 74LS12 it used to place down a chip, but now its trying to place a single logic gate.
What setting have I changed?? it's driving me crazy, hopefully someone can help.

I don't have Multisim. However, don't be overly alarmed about this, as you'll find it's much more convenient to have such gates (3-input positive NAND with open-collector outputs in the x12's case) free to place in different areas of the schematic.

For IC's such as counters, shift registers, 7-segment display drivers, etc. makes more sense to have them all in one package. Things like AND/OR/NAND/NOR/XOR/inverters make more sense to have in individual packages.

 

It's just that I have opened up a circuit I've being working on, and it's starting doing it :S
