Does anyone have experience with this process showing up in Resource Manager, and consuming copious amounts of memory? It appears to be an infection, but AV doesn't see it.

looks like one of those ' we have a fix for you and we'll give you half a dozen other programs (in the background) that don't work and slow your pc down even more' pages

first thing it did was lie to me

zorin is not a windows based OS

i use combofix on win pc's a lot (up to win 7) http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/dl/12/ fixes most win errors and can detect/remove root/boot virus's that get hidden from antivirus software

Pretty sure that's how I got in this mess in the first place. Can't deny though, the programs I've downloaded have been extremely useful.
