So I have very little knowledge about electronics just enough for me to get by tinkering around. My latest project has me making a target. When a photo sensor receives a flash of light I want a ring of LEDs to light up for maybe a second then turn off. I have a solution I believe may work however I feel there must be better ways to accomplish this.

Thanks Mr. Chips I believe that is exactly what I'm looking for I've used 555 timers before but didn't think about it for this instance. Now just a little math for the Capacitor and resistor and I'm good that go.
