I work on a Windows machine, so I was wondering if one of you would be willing to email me a word file on a Linux box -- it's usually in something like /usr/share/dict/words or somesuch. The file I'm using on my machine is 7 or 8 years old and I just found a number of words that weren't in it, so it's time for updating the file. I need it as a plain text file and for American English.

I thought it would be easy to find one on the web, but it wasn't (10 or 15 minutes of looking is enough). And it's in a bunch of distros somewhere, but I don't want to spend the time figuring out how to extract it. Thus, I was hoping someone would be willing to email me a zipped version of it.

Please PM me if you're willing to email me the list. I'll post a message here saying that I got the file when I no longer need it.

    Thanks!

One of our members pointed me to a word file that he put on the web. Thanks, nerdegutta!
