sam: I believe the legal document you seek is called a "non-disclosure agreement." It's common in industry, you should be able to Google up a copy without needing to add to your lawyer's hours total.

I'd also be willing to help, but have several hunderd K of product on my desk to ship by year's end, so except for quickies it's next year for me.

As soon as someone says "Patent" the project is dead in its tracks on most electronic forums. It'll never go beyond trust issues or more often than not it's patently un-patentable.

Also nobody's going to sign an NDA with a perfect stranger. Of course if you're going to offer vast sums of cash UP FRONT you might get some traction.

I'm going to suggest you at least try to disclose your idea and not just off the top of your hat specs
e.g.
"should be able to operate accurately in -15° F and 150° F"
"should be able to operate in low and high pressure"
0.5cm or 5cm square / cube? including power source.
requires software, so it's got I/O if so what?
needs to be defined.

PS most inventor patents are worthless or worse. Google it.
