A friend gave me his old car stereo and when we were installing it we realized we were missing one small part that wouldn't allow us to put it in. On the back of the stereo where the connector plugs into, there should be a little gray box that you can slide the connector into but it's not there, I've searched pioneers site but don't really know what to look for. The model is a deh-p2000 if anyone could help me at all I'd really appreciate it.

I've installed a few car stereos but not that one. Normally I go to Google and search for "<name> <model> wiring" or similar. For the DEH-P2000 I found the following link which might help you: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/car-audio/289632-pioneer-deh-p2000-wiring.html

In many cases you can just buy a wiring harness from a car audio shop for the stereo and vehicle type in question.

I know this isn't a lot of information but I hope it helps,
