Hi, I don't know an awfull lot about circuits So I'm going to need some help designing one. Basically i need to be able to turn two things on with one switch (heres the bit I need help with) but one needs a delay of about half a second before it starts and lasts for one second. The other part needs to start straight away and last for as long as the switch is held down. Please let me know how this can be done in the simplest and cheapest way possible. I don't mind if you show schematics as long as you say what each part is.

It depends on what you call a "part", but i think you can do this with the switch charging a capacitor thru a resistor, to make the initial delay, and trigger a 555 monostable to do the 1 second activation.
