Do you want to detect the internal temperature of the pipe, or the conductivity of the water in it?

    Alitext,

Are you talking about a thermal imaging device to locate pipes hidden inside of walls?

    alitex,

    Sorry about mistyping your name.

    Google: thermal imaging detectors
They will show you hot spots on the wall from the heated pipe. But,they are very expensive.

    Google: non-contact thermometer
You might do a simple version by using a sensitive electronic IR thermometer and measuring a lot of points on the wall and making a thermal map on graph paper.

There are metal detectors that might be used to detect the pipe, but not differentiate between cold and hot pipes.

Sorry, I don't have any better solutions this morning. :(
