    hello,

just a quick question FRxxx series diodes ARE FAST recovery, with "normal" silicon diodes 1N4001-1N4007 ,what is the maximum operating FREQUENCY?? that it could rectify??

Been looking at lots of diode datasheets but cant find such..

Note the spec sheet for diode capacitance, which is 15pF (4Vb @ 1MHZ). Theoretically, the wave frequency being rectified can increase to the point where the 15pF begins to dominate and acts to bypass the diode. In practice, components and tolerances will vary, so one would want to stay at least an octave or two below that point).

    nomurphy,

so it can STILL act as diode below 1MHz..an octave below 1MHz is 500KHz( or 250KHz @ 2 octaves?) w/c is still OK for my application...

    thanks :)
