This really does have me in a pickle too
NE 555, LED Lamp Sleep mode. ( Monostable Configuration)

I assume this is a college/school project, so we shouldn't be feeding you a complete answer.
As has been suggested, you need a bistable latch (flip-flop) in addition to the 555. The lamp would be on when the latch is set and the falling edge of the 555 output would reset the latch. You can build a latch from discrete components or use an IC if allowed/available.
